Registration and all the details
Registration:
Registration is done on a team basis. Spots are only secured once the organizers have received the registration form and team fee. Early bird registration ends on December 1st ($100 savings/team). At the latest, teams must be registered by December 31st, 2019. Add-ons can be done anytime thereafter. The registration link is at the bottom of this page – we suggest you read everything in between.
The League:
The league will be comprised of eight (8) teams, with a possibility of adding a ninth (9th) team. The league will run every Sunday evening from January 12th to March 1st from 7:00PM to 9:00PM, with the exception of Feb 16th. Each team is guaranteed two (2) games per night with one bye week during the regular season.
The Teams:
Each team must have a minimum of seven (7) registered players, with maximum fifteen (15) players and will play five (5) a side. Guest (drop-in) players are not allowed (You must register them with your team and they must agree to the waiver).
Each team is encouraged to have their own team t-shirts/jerseys or a set of lights and darks to distinguish opposing teams.
The Fees:
Early bird fees for the season will be $550/team. Payment can be done by cash or email transfer, cheque or cash. Teams registering after December 1st will be charged a $100/team surcharge - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Want to play but don't have a team?! We will put individuals together - Cost is $80/person and team will have a maximum of 15 people - if the team does not fill up you will be put in contact with other team captains.
The Players:
Players can be male or female. There are no minimums requirements as to the gender make-up of each team (i.e. a team can be all males or all females or mixed - it's up to you).
The Facility/Playing Field:
All games will be played at the Absolute Baseball Academy & Fitness Centre located at 2221 Crowchild Trail NW, Calgary, AB T2M 4S7. The playing surface is (nice) field turf, therefore running shoes and turf shoes are the only acceptable forms of footwear. Be respectful of the facility!
Officiating:
Games will be officiated. See “Laws of the Game” page for more info.
The Captain:
Each team must have a designated captain. They are responsible for all team matters and is the sole contact point for the organizers.
